How to File Your Parapet Observation Report with NYC DOB

Once your parapet inspection is complete, you need to file the observation report with the NYC Department of Buildings. Here's how:

Step 1: Complete the Inspection

Hire a licensed surveyor or qualified inspector to conduct the annual observation. You'll receive a detailed report with findings and recommendations.

Step 2: Verify Report Requirements

Ensure the report includes:

• Inspector's license number and credentials
• Building address and Block/Lot number
• Date of observation
• Findings and condition assessment
• Recommendations for repairs
• Inspector's signature

Step 3: Submit to DOB

File the report through one of these methods:

• NYC DOB website: Submit electronically through the filing system
• In person: Bring the report to a DOB office
